São Paulo Motor Show had its date postponed to next year

With some information, the new São Paulo Motor Show has just been postponed to 2023.

Therefore, the “São Paulo Motor Experience”, the new name given to the Motor Show, will leave the 2022 calendar, due to the crisis, and will be inaugurated next year.

So it's been four years since we've had the Auto Show in the state of São Paulo.

At first it didn't seem like it would take that long, so we thought it would release this year. But unfortunately it was left for the next year again, all because of the semiconductor crisis, which is causing automakers to stop producing cars here in Brazil.

Anyway, the incredible event was supposed to be in August, with ticket sales opening in April.

Unfortunately, the crisis caused RX “former Reed Exhibitions”, and also Anfavea “National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers” to change plans and put the show's project for 2023.

With some information from Márcio de Lima Leite, who is the new president of Anfavea, “production is almost stopped, and the project is probably for the second half of 2023.

This situation has taken the focus of companies, making production, supply and even the fulfillment of some orders difficult.

With all this, the brands were not interested in this event. Until the scenario improved and this crisis ended, the event only had the support of the BMW, BYD and Mini brands.

The brands JAC, Chevrolet, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Mercedes-Benz and Suzuki had already canceled the participation of the brands in the São Paulo Motor Show. And they also had some brands that were still in doubt.

Therefore, the new Salão de São Paulo was postponed to 2023. Márcio Leite explained that in August it rains less, and this allows the Interlagos event to take place.

Because of these situations, they decided to change the event, instead of playing for a few more months.

With that time, automakers can get back to focusing on production, and everything gets back to normal.
