New Ram 1200 2024

The 2024 New Ram 1200 is a covered full-body pickup that has been seen in testing on US roads. Keep reading and know more about it!

We are spying on the ram 1200 for quite some time now, but this is our best look yet as the bulky camouflage is finally gone.

However, the small pickup is still fully disguised and looks like an extra-long SUV because of the truck's roof to hide the bed.

Compared to previous models, the Ram 1200 has lost the Jeep-like round headlights and Fiat Toro-sourced taillights in favor of what we can only assume are the final light sets.

Known internally by its codename “Project 291”, this new model is expected to revive the “1200” moniker used for a rebranded Fiat Fullback / Mitsubishi Triton between 2016 and 2019.

It will sit above the Ram 1000 / Fiat Toro and should run on the Small Wide 4×4 architecture adapted from Compass, Commander and other Stellantis products.

The prototype appears to be slightly larger than a Fiat Toro, so it's probably similar in size to the Ford Maverick or maybe a little bigger.

It has a long wheelbase for this double cab body style with generous ground clearance, square wheel arches and twin tailpipes.

Rumor has it that Ram intends to sell the truck only with a 4×4 layout and a new 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine with approximately 200 horsepower and 441 Newton-meters of torque.

An ethanol-compatible gasoline engine should also come along with a nine-speed automatic transmission borrowed from other Stellantis models.

Production of the monocoque truck is scheduled to take place at the plant in Pernambuco, Brazil, where the Renegade, Compass and Commander are assembled.

The official debut is scheduled for later this year. For now, ram didn't say a word about the possibility of bringing the 1200 to the United States.
