Lincoln Corsair First Drive 2023

The Lincoln Corsair First Drive model 2023 received some updates that made it more modern and technological. Check out what they were!

The biggest news of lincoln Corsair 2023 is the Lincoln BlueCruise. Yes, I said BlueCruise. The hands-free driver assistance system has a new name after a single year under the ActiveGlide banner.

Fortunately, BlueCruise remains pretty slick. The latest version, 1.2, is available in all three Corsair trims as part of the top-end Collection III package, though customers can't independently select the BC from that pricey group.

Where the Lightning bounced back and forth, Corsair's new In-Lane Positioning System, standard in BlueCruise 1.2, kept it centered. The system will still move the Lincoln Corsair into its lane, but now it's in response to adjacent traffic - approach a right semi and BlueCruise will nudge the car to the left side of the Corsair's lane.

Track positioning also helped with smoother turns, allowing the Corsair to confidently negotiate them. The car provided plenty of warning in the one case it needed to disengage as well, displaying its geofence on the highway when being deactivated before a particularly tricky stretch.

And if the computer considers a curve too tight, BlueCruise 1.2 can now slow down to negotiate it. But like other automakers that offer a similar system for sharp turns on highways, the Lincoln Corsair slows down too much and too suddenly.

The most impressive addition in the BC 1.2 is the automatic lane change system, which together with stronger lane centering puts this version of the hands-free driving software on par with Super Cruise.

The Eternal Red upholstery is bold and exciting, combining unique aluminum accents with contrast stitching. It's a much better shade than the blacks, grays and browns that usually accompany luxury compact vehicles.

The cleaner console below retains the PRND dial, a volume knob, and some quick access buttons, but overall it's a much cleaner, more mature arrangement.

The only gasoline engine, featured in my tester, is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes a respectable 250 horsepower.

The 2.0-liter LincolnCorsair is a tough little thing, with plenty of off-line torque and little in the way of turbo lag. It revs willingly and still feels strong even at higher engine revs.

The attached eight-speed automatic is a champ, blending into the background in everyday driving and willingly responding to sudden demands for a lower gear. The arrangement is not very economical, as the lincoln Corsair 2023 returns just 33 km / l in the city, 29 on the highway and 38 combined with four-wheel drive.
